Surah Yaseen in Which Juz? – Complete Location Guide
Surah Yaseen is located in Juz 22 and Juz 23 of the Holy Quran. It is the 36th Surah and begins within Juz 22, extending into Juz 23. It is a Makki Surah with 83 ayat.
Understanding Juz — The 30 Parts of the Quran
The Quran is divided into 30 Juz (جزء — plural: Ajza) to facilitate regular recitation. Reciting one Juz per day allows a Muslim to complete the entire Quran in 30 days — the perfect schedule for the month of Ramadan. Each Juz contains approximately 20 pages of the standard Mushaf and covers multiple chapters (surahs) or portions of larger chapters.
Juz 22 is one of the richest Juz in the Quran in terms of thematic variety. It begins with Surah Al-Ahzab (33:31) and passes through Surah Saba (34), Surah Fatir (35), and then enters the magnificent Surah Yaseen (36). The Juz then extends into Surah As-Saffat (37). Juz 23 picks up from within Surah Yaseen and continues through Surah As-Saffat, Surah Sad (38), and into Surah Az-Zumar (39).
What Other Surahs Are in the Same Juz as Surah Yaseen?
In Juz 22, Surah Yaseen shares space with the end of Surah Al-Ahzab, the complete Surah Saba, and the complete Surah Fatir. These surahs collectively address themes of divine power, the Prophet’s mission, the consequences of disbelief, and the signs of Allah in creation — themes that are directly continued and deepened in Surah Yaseen. In Juz 23, Surah Yaseen’s conclusion shares the Juz with Surah As-Saffat (which contains the story of Ibrahim and Ismail’s sacrifice), and the beginning of Surah Sad.
